You can go to the Tyrone Township's website for more information on your ISO rating if you live in Tyrone Township. It is dependant on whether each city or township has its own fire department, response times, water system infrastructure such as hydrants, number of people on the department and the equipment you carry on the trucks. Your Insurance Service Offices rating is based on many factors, which are hard to explain in a short space. I live just outside of the City - Why is my ISO rating different from the City’s? A lower number means you pay less insurance. The department recommends you contact your insurance company to make sure this is reflected in your premiums. What is my Insurance Services Office (ISO) rating?Ĭurrently, the city ISO rating is a class 3. We maintain an active Fire Explorer post for youth ages 14 to 21 who are interested in learning about the firefighting profession. We respond to approximately 500 calls per year in both the city and the township. We generally staff about 32 members and respond to calls in the City of Fenton and parts of Tyrone Township.

The Fire Chief is our only full-time position. Our department operates out of 1 station and we are paid-on-call, which means we do not live at the station we only respond to calls when we are needed from home or work.
#FENTON TOWNSHIP HOW TO#
The Fire Truck page shows you the trucks we respond to calls on and our Employment Information page explains how to join the department. A lot of questions you may have for the fire department might already be answered in our Frequently Asked Questions section, such as, "Do I need a burn permit?" If you want to learn about severe weather preparedness information in our area, such as tornados and what precautions to take, you can see our education section. These pages are designed to give you information on getting to know our department, its members, its history, etc. Our mission, though, remains the same: "To protect the life and property of the people of our community with the highest quality of service possible." In order for us to serve you better, we ask that you make sure your address is clearly visible on your mailbox, house, or on a green address sign. The responsibilities and expertise the department provides have expanded since the days of fighting fires only. Instead of only fighting fires, we now do rescue work and are trained for medical responses and hazardous material situations. Since this time, many changes have taken place over the years with technology, training and personnel. Established on March 9th, 1875, the Fenton Hook and Ladder Company Number 1 began operations and was one of the first organized fire departments in our area. The fire department has a long history of protecting our community.
